This is a wax skull seal stamp. Yes, you can create your own actual wax seals for your letters and scrolls, wax seal for decoration, or wax seal for cosplay.

Prefer to buy the red wax skull seals already made? Well cool, as I have a number of real wax skull seals for sale.

Description

This skull wax seal stamp comes in 3 parts (stamp, stem, handle) for better printing, and for those who want to make themselves a different handle. I would suggest printing this skull wax seal stamp with a resin printer. In the photos, my wax seal stamp I printed in resin at 0.25microns. Very small layer lines visible in some places. You can try to soften these with a heat source but try not to melt it entirely 😉

Wax Seal Stamping Tips

  • When deciding to use wax sticks for a hot glue gun, I would suggest verifying your wax products before use – some vendors just sell coloured glue.
  • Printing a smaller/shorter wax stamp will assist in ensuring the wax will fill the stamp fully.
  • If using a candle to melt wax in a metal spoon, be wary that if you heat the wax too much it can stick to the stamp. If you have an infrared thermometer, then I’d suggest a range of 40-60C/104-140F.
  • If you let the wax fully cool it can also stick to the stamp. I’d suggest when it is still warm you very gently try prying it off the stamp
  • Put the stamp in the freezer to cool it down prior to use. You can let it rest on a freeze block or bag of ice between stamps

Don’t want to make your own skull wax seals? You can buy pre-made wax skull seals. You can also buy resin cast plastic “wax” skull seals in large and small sizes.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This product is for personal use only. Do not sell the 3D files. Do not sell your wax seals.

How I made this: I took the skull of Thebrakshow’s seal  and heavily modified it, removing overhangs that would prevent the wax stamp from working correctly.
