It’s “R U OK?” day.
It’s almost a tradition these days that I don’t post anything here… until it’s RUOK? Day. Oops.
R U OK? Day happens annually and is a day to remind people to ask those you care about if they are ok. Many people suffer from depression, anxiety, other ailments or are just having a hard time, and they suffer in silence, whether due to mental health issues or not wanting to be a “burden”. Things become much easier when you have someone to confide in. They don’t necessarily have to find actual solutions for you or take some of the problems onto themselves (though that does help), but sometimes just knowing someone is there, is concerned, and cares, is enough.
R U OK? is a not-for-profit organisation whose vision is a world where we’re all connected and are protected from suicide. A number of celebrities including Simon Baker and Hugh Jackman help champion the cause of mental health.
I’m ok. But I’d love to be great.
